Career Opportunities: International Students Visit ZEW

Guests at ZEW

The group of international students visiting ZEW.

Around 20 international students from the University of Mannheim visited the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) on October 11, 2016. The students visited ZEW in the context of the pilot project "Step by Step" by the International Office of the University of Mannheim. The project is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Gunter Grittmann, head of the Service Department "Information and Communication", welcomed the students and provided an overview of the work carried out at ZEW. After that, personnel officer Ramona Liebhaber-Baghel informed the students about career opportunities in the field of economic research in general, and at ZEW in particular, such as internships, the opportunity to work as a student assistant and PhD programmes. Two ZEW researchers then gave insight into their daily work at the institute. Francesco Berlingieri, researcher at ZEW’s Research Department "Labour Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy" and Zareh Asatryan, researcher at the Research Department "Corporate Taxation and Public Finance", talked about their professional backgrounds and explained their work at ZEW using current projects as telling examples.
