Tara Walter

Tara Walter joined the ZEW Research Unit “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics” as a researcher in December 2025. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Mannheim. As part of her studies, she spent exchange semesters at the University of Zurich and at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium. In her Master’s thesis, she investigated how venture capital investments influence firms’ innovation outcomes in the field of artificial intelligence. 

Her research interests lie in venture capital, startups, and technological transformation. In addition, she teaches exercise classes in econometrics and industrial organization at the University of Mannheim.
