With this proposal we put forward two separate paper ideas. In the first paper connecting SLR to corruption, we build upon the models of Nováĉková and Tol (2018), Escaleras et al. (2007), Escaleras and Register (2012, 2016), Chatzivasileiadis (2019). The paper focuses on the US counties where excellent SLR and corruption data are available at the state and county level starting from 1974 till 2017.
The second part focuses on estimating the Social Cost of Carbon including SLR, based on a combination of three different models. The Dynamic Interactive Vulnerability Assessment (DIVA) model [Hinkel (2005), Hinkel et al. (2013), Hinkel et al. (2014)] to derive the future SLR, land loss and capital loss data, a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model [Chatzivasileiadis et al. (2016, 2018)] estimating the General Equilibrium effects of SLR when transportation disruptions are included in combination to land and capita losses, and last the FUND Integrated Assessment Model (IAM) [Anthoff et al. (2010), Anthoff and Tol (2013)] in order to estimate the final SCC. The purpose of this paper is to update the SCC based on a new methodology where the SCC is related to 1 additional cm of SLR.
