Real Options in Renewables: Investment Strategies and Policy Instruments

Real Options in Renewables: Investment Strategies and Policy Instruments

Period: 01.04.2007 – 31.07.2008

The project analyses different policy instruments to support investments into renewable energies. In particular, uncertainty of demand and of technological progress is taken explicitly into account. A real option approach is applied to capture investment strategies of private investors. The aim is a comparison of the efficiency of the policy instruments in this framework, such as quota models and feed-in-tariffs.
