The aim of this study is to find out if personnel managers encounter a shortage of engineers. On the basis of a written questionnaire it is asked if German establishments are suffering from a shortage of engineers or if there are clear signs for a shortage in the future. The study analyses which establishment types encounter a shortage of engineers and what are establishment strategies and policy measures to reduce engineer shortages.
