The Innovation Indicator aims at measuring the innovative potential of countries in a concise way and the develop recommendations for innovation policy. Three dimensions of innovative potential are considered:
- Developing innovations through (a) creating new knowledge and (b) knowledge diffusion, market formation, entrepreneurship, experimentation, and resource mobilization;
- Developing new markets through key enabling technologies
- Sustainable production and consumption
