Pursuing a sustainable staffing policy, German companies are interested in estimating the consequences of demographic change in their direct labour market environment. On behalf of an automotive supplier, this project gives a detailed and locally precise estimation of the effects of the demographic change on the work force of the companies´ different subsidiaries and labour force profile. Hence, especially the non-flexible and unskilled workers as well as commuters are in focus of our interest. Additionally the staff structure of the automotive supply industry is compared to the companies´ figures and the resulting medium-term development of the personnel structure is assessed. The findings and scenarios are discussed and conclusions regarding the companies´ personnel policy are derived.
