It has been widely recognized that information and communication technologies (ICT) are key for productivity and growth of the overall economy. The implementation of new ICT applications, however, requires a well functioning internet infrastructure. In this project we focused on the relationship between broadband availability and employment growth. Via descriptive and econometric analyses we checked which available data sets are appropriate for an empirical analysis of this relationship and for the identification of causal effects.
