Luca Sandrini has been a researcher at ZEW’s “Digital Economy” Unit since January 2024. He studied economics at the University of Bologna and the University of Padova in Italy. He spent a semester at the School of Business and Social Sciences of the University of Aarhus in 2018 and a semester at the School of Business and Economics of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2019. During his doctoral studies, he focused on the theoretical analysis of firms’ incentives to innovate, as well as to license and protect intellectual property. He spent three years as a postdoctoral researcher at the QSMS research group of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, where he focused on incentives to innovate in digital markets. He is a junior member of the Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation (MaCCI).
