Pensions and Sustainable Financial Markets

Dr. Alexander Glas has been a researcher in ZEW’s “Pensions and Sustainable Financial Markets” Unit since September 2023. He studied economics at Heidelberg University. Following his master’s studies, he worked as a researcher at the university’s Chair of Empirical Economics and completed his PhD in economics in 2018.

Between 2019 and 2023, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Statistics and Econometrics at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg.

His primary research interests in the field of empirical macroeconomics include the formation of expectations among different actors, especially experts and households, and the associated measurement of macroeconomic uncertainty. He oversees the monthly “ZEW Financial Market Survey”.
