Frauke Schleer studied economics at the Justus-Liebig University Gießen and the University of Exeter in England. She focused on statistics and econometrics, international economics as well as finance and banking and also studied political science as an additional main subject. In her diploma thesis she investigated the relationship between economic growth and exports in Germany by applying VAR-, VEC- and nonlinear VAR models. After attending the first year of the doctoral program at the University of Mannheim she decided to switch to the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) Mannheim. Since July 2011 Frauke Schleer is a member of the research group "Growth and Business Cycles" at the ZEW. Her research interests are international macroeconometrics, in particular non-linear economic modelling.
