Mathias Dolls joined ZEW in May 2013 and is Senior Researcher as well as Deputy in the Research Group "International Distribution and Redistribution". He previously worked as Research Associate at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn, Germany, where he is now Research Fellow. He studied Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics and the University of Cologne and received his PhD from the University of Cologne in 2012, being a fellow of the Cologne Graduate School in Management, Economics and Social Sciences.

His current research focus is on fiscal policy and the perspectives of fiscal integration in Europe. More broadly, he is interested in empirical public and labour economics with particular reference to the stabilising, redistributive and efficiency effects of tax and transfer systems in an international context.
