ZEW Summer Workshop

The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) is pleased to invite submissions for its 20th Summer Workshop for Young Economists in Mannheim on 2–5 July 2018. This year’s workshop will focus on the the use of internet-based data and of modern approaches such as machine learning for economic analyses. Topics from labour or public economics, innovation economics or the digital economy might be addressed.  The workshop will bring together promising international doctoral students and postdocs for four days of intensive training led by renowned international academics. The summer school will include lectures given by three leading economists and sessions giving participants the opportunity to present their work and exchange ideas with the keynote speakers.

Young academics who wish to attend the workshop are invited to submit a paper. We particularly welcome applications from the fields of labour market economics, public economics, innovation and the digital economy which use innovative data sources as well as modern approaches such as machine learning, or text and network analysis.
