Holger Stichnoth studierte Volkswirtschaftslehre an den Universitäten Konstanz, Edinburgh, und der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Seit 2005 ist er Doktorand bei Prof. Claudia Senik an der Paris School of Economics. Seine Doktorarbeit auf dem Gebiet der angewandten Mikroökonometrie beschäftigt sich mit dem Einfluss der Migration auf die Umverteilungsbereitschaft und mit der Arbeitsangebotsentscheidung im familiären Zusammenhang.
Seit März 2009 arbeitet Holger Stichnoth als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im ZEW-Forschungsbereich Arbeitsmärkte, Personalmanagement und Soziale Sicherung. Sein Arbeitsschwerpunkt ist das Steuer-Transfer-Simulationsmodell (STSM).
