WorkshopCurrent high levels of immigration are affecting host countries in the economic, political and social sphere. Evidence on the various impacts of immigration on host countries is therefore highly important for an informed debate.
ZEW is hosting a workshop to bring together international scholars from the field of the economics of migration in order to present and discuss recent empirical, theoretical and policy-oriented research looking at the impact of immigration on host countries. We encourage contributions from all areas of economics.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Impact of immigration on host country labour markets
- Political economy of immigration
- Migration and crime
- Fiscal consequences of immigration
- Drivers of attitudes towards immigration
- Consequences of illegal immigration
- Selection of immigrants
- Forced displacement and refugees
