Labor Market Research – Theory, Empirical Analysis, Interdisciplinary Perspectives

The Summer School in Labor Market Research, organized by the DFG Priority Programme 1764 "The German Labor Market in a Globalized World: Challenges through Trade, Technology, and Demographics", aims to bring together PhD students, junior researchers, and renowned international researchers to study and discuss recent research topics in labor market research. Four distinguished researchers from economics and sociology will give lectures. In addition, there will be lectures on research issues and methods in labor market research and on data availability in Germany. Doctoral students and junior researchers will have the opportunity to present their work and discuss ideas with renowned international researchers.

Doctoral students and postdocs within three years after completion of their thesis are invited to apply. The DFG SPP 1764 Summer School is open to about 30 active participants. Active participation involves presenting own research, typically a research paper. Additional participants may be admitted to attend the summer school without presenting a paper. Accommodation and traveling expenses (economy, 2nd class train travel) are covered for active participants. Further non-presenting participants may apply for financial aid through SPP 1764. A reimbursement of travel costs and accommodation can only be given provided that a participant attends the Summer School during all five days. The acceptance decision will be based on academic merits.

Einreichungsprozess

Deadline for Application: April 30, 2015

Applications must include a CV, a list of completed working papers and publications, a reference letter from your academic advisor, and for an active participant an extended abstract (3 pages in PDF format) or the full paper for presentation at the Summer School. Please send your complete application to Arne Jonas Warnke via dfg1764@zew.de no later than April 30, 2015. The reference letter must be sent by the academic advisor.
