PhD Seminar Dialogue on the Economics of Climate Change

The PhD seminar is designed to foster an active exchange among young researchers (PhD-candidates and early-career Postdocs) regarding their experiences with experimental methods for conducting research in the domain of climate and resource economics. We explicitly encourage young scholars to present contributions at all stages (experimental protocols, preliminary results, paper drafts, job market papers). We welcome submissions using various experimental approaches such as lab and field experiments, online experiments or survey experiments.

The PhD seminar is part of the „Dialogue on the Economics of Climate Change“ and jointly organized with the IfW Kiel.

PhD-students and early-career Postdocs working in projects in the funding measure Economics of Climate Change are invited to submit papers.

At the Seminar, you can present your work (~20 minutes) and receive feedback from senior researchers in the field and the other participants (~20 minutes). We will also have an “Ask the editor”-session with Prof. Timo Goeschl, PhD (University of Heidelberg) who is currently serving as a Co-Editor at the Journal Environmental and Resource Economics. We also want to talk about the results’ political and societal relevance and how to communicate them to stakeholders. The overall aim of the Seminar is to create a respectful atmosphere for presenters and an engaging setting for discussions and exchange between all attendees.
