2018 Summer School: Topics and Methods in Labor Market Research

Workshop

The Summer School for Labor Market Research, organized by the DFG Priority Program 1764 “The German Labor Market in a Globalized World: Challenges through Trade, Technology, and Demographics”, aims to bring together PhD students, junior researchers and renowned international researchers to examine and discuss the latest research topics and methods in labor market research. There will be lectures delivered by four distinguished researchers from the fields of economics and sociology. In addition, lectures will be provided on research issues and empirical methods in labor market research. Doctoral students and junior researchers will have the opportunity to present their work and discuss ideas with renowned international researchers. Furthermore, active participants will be given individual feedback sessions with one of the lecturers.

Doctoral students and postdocs who have completed their thesis within the last three years are invited to apply. The DFG SPP 1764 Summer School is open to around 25 active participants. Active participation involves presenting your own research, typically a research paper. Additional participants may be admitted to attend the summer school without presenting a paper. Accommodation and travel expenses are covered for active participants. Additional participants not presenting a paper may apply for financial aid through SPP 1764. Travel costs and accommodation can only be reimbursed for participants attending all five days of the Summer School. The acceptance of participants for the Summer School will be based on their academic merit.
