Philipp Schmidt-Dengler is Professor of Economics at the University of Vienna. His research interests are industrial economics, competiton policy, applied microeconomics and econometrics. He received completed his undergraduate Studies at the University of Vienna, holds an MA from Queen's University and received a PhD in economics from Yale University in 2005. Before joining the University of Vienna in September 2014, he was a Professor at the Universität Mannheim, a Lecturer and subsequently Reader at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Philipp was a member of the Panel of Academic Advisors to the UK Competition Commission. He is currently a Co-editor of the International Journal of Industrial Organization, Editorial Board Member of the Review of Economics Studies, Associate Editor of the Journal of the European Economic Association and the Journal of Applied Econometrics, Affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London, and Affiliate of the CESifo Research Network in Munich.
