Paul Berbée joined ZEW’s Research Department “Labour Markets and Human Resources” in April 2018. He works in the research area “Integration into Labour Markets”, where his research interests include applied micro-econometrics and empirical labour market research. Currently, he is working on the effects of immigration on European labour markets and the integration of refugees.

Paul Berbée studied economics at the Humboldt University of Berlin, University Carlos III Madrid in Spain and Lund University in Sweden with a focus on labour economics, migration, and international development. Before joining ZEW, he worked for the Youth Employment Programme run by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva.

He is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Bayreuth. His supervisor is Professor Sebastian Braun.
