Nikolas Wölfing is a Junior Research Associate at ZEW’s Research Department “Market Design” and an assistant professor at the Mannheim Institute for Sustainable Energy Studies of the University of Mannheim’s School of Business. He worked as a researcher in ZEW’s Research Department “Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Management” until February 2019, and was a postdoc at ETH Zurich from 2015 to 2016. He received his PhD and master’s degree in quantitative economics from the Paris School of Economics / Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Nikolas Wölfing’s research interests lie in the organisation and regulation of energy markets, environmental economics, and industrial organisation. Previous work include applied microeconomic studies and methodological contributions in functional statistics.
