Janna Axenbeck completed her bachelor’s degree in socioeconomics at Hamburg University and her master’s degree in public economics at the Free University of Berlin, including exchange semesters at Sciences Po Lille and National Taiwan University. During her master’s programme, she focused on innovation economics and policy. She joined ZEW’s Research Department “Digital Economy” in October 2017.

She mostly uses firm-level and web-scraped data and applies microeconometric and machine learning methods as well as text mining for her analyses.
