Start-up Promotion Instruments in OECD Countries and their Application to Developing Countries

In this project, a short study on start-up promotion instruments is prepared. The short study provides an overview of start-up promotion instruments in OECD countries and presents in brief statements some possibilities how this instruments can be integrated into economic policy consulting and private sector development as part of GIZ’s development activities.The study presents in a concise way the start-up promotion instruments together with their aims and pursued strategies. The main focus lies on instruments that aim at promoting opportunity oriented start-ups. In a second step it is discussed how the instruments should be adjusted to apply to the context of developing countries.
