The effect of age-sensitive production systems on employment and productivity: Economic Analysis on the basis of micro data

It is the aim of this project to analyse production systems from an organisational and economic perspective. At the one hand, the effects of age-structure among the employees in combination with different production-systems, personnel measures and business organisation should be estimated. On the other hand, it should be investigated how companies can employ elderly workers in a way that takes their age-specific needs into account. Here it is one aim to find out how to prevent transitions into early retirement. Another aim is to understand how the general employability of elderly workers can be enhanced, such that re-employment rates are increased in the case of a layoff.
