Period: 01.09. – 30.11.2019

The project (coordination: Prognos AG)analyses the significance of three demand components for technology parks in Baden-Wuerttemberg, considering both existing parks (Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Göppingen, Tübingen) and potential future sites (Friedrichshafen, Ulm, Konstanz, Heidelberg, Freiburg, Heilbronn, Villingen-Schwenningen, Pforzheim, Aalen, Ravensburg):

  • Potential of young firms in relevant thematic areas, differentiated by dynamic and less dynamic firms;
  • Potential of established SMEs with either a high innovation orientation, in-house R&D activities or software activities, differentiated by relevant thematic areas;
  • Potential of established SMEs with strong networking activities, differentiated by relevant thematic areas.

The potential is represented by the number of relevant firms, and by the number of employees working in these firms. Data base for the analysis is the Mannheim Enterprise Panel of ZEW.
