MannheimTaxation – Causal Effects of Private Versus Public Health Insurance

MannheimTaxation – Causal Effects of Private Versus Public Health Insurance

The objective of this research project – which is financed by the Leibniz- ScienceCampus MannheimTaxation – is to study the causal effect of the type of health insurance (private vs public) on different health outcomes. A direct comparison would be misleading as there are systematic differences between the two groups. The project will develop a quasi-empirical strategy that deals with the potential bias arising from this selection effect.
