Do in-Kind Benefits Reach Children?

Do in-Kind Benefits Reach Children?

This project studies to what extent children benefit from (unconditional) cash transfers to families. In a first step, theoretical arguments for and against cash transfers (vs. in-kind benefits) and the existing empirical evidence will be reviewed. The second step consists of own empirical analyses in the context of Germany, using three different empirical strategies that attempt to identify causal effects of cash transfers on household expenditures and children's outcomes.
