Decomposition Analysis of the Changes in Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the EU and Member States

The objective of this study was to assess the main drivers behind changes in greenhouse gas emissions using both decomposition analysis and econometric analysis, including the causal links between policies and drivers. This ex-post evaluation of climate policies helps strengthen the understanding on the effects of various policies on the changes in emissions in view of further climate policy developments.
