Disadvantaged youth in the German labour market

Disadvantaged youth in the German labour market

ZEW recently conducted a policy evaluation of subsidies for vocational training on the market for apprenticeships commissioned by the Federal ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS). The evaluation of the subsidy program only considered short term effects. The current project extends the evaluation of the subsidy program to long term effects of the subsidy program on the employment history after completion of the vocational training. Furthermore the additional survey data is used to identify successfully completed apprenticeships in the Integrated Employment Biographies (IEB) of the IAB. Possibilities to proxy the completed apprenticeships developed during the policy evaluation project are to be validated.
