Collusive Behaviour in European Gasoline Retail Markets – Transparency and Competition

Collusive Behaviour in European Gasoline Retail Markets – Transparency and Competition

Extensive monitoring by the media, political and scientific attention make gasoline retailing an interesting object of investigation. Impacts of the introduction of the market transparency platform in Germany will be analyzed. A special focus is set on the dynamics of gas stations owners’ price setting behavior. The respective adjustment speeds and the impact of demographic factors lie at the heart of the analysis. Similar reforms have already taken place in other countries of Europe and shall be investigated where possible.
