Companies from emerging countries are accelerating their external growth internationally and thus appear in numerous M&A activities in Germany. These investments have been a major topic of public discussion in Germany as the traditional direction of M&A activities has been from developed towards developing countries. In this context the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim, Germany conducted a survey among more than 200 financial market experts comparing investors from India to China, Russia and Brazil (BRIC-nations). The study shows that the atmosphere in the German financial markets is friendly for investors from BRIC-nations as long as they do not include political interferences.
