The Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation (MaCCI), a joint initiative of the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) and the University of Mannheim, is pleased to announce its 2016 Annual Conference. The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for exchange and discussion on topics in competition- and innovation-related research between academic researchers and practitioners in public authorities, legal counsel, and economic consultancies. In 2016, both days of the conference will be devoted to parallel sessions in which original research papers from all fields of competition law and economics can be presented. The parallel sessions will also include papers on business strategy related to competition, on the intersection between competition and innovation, and on regulated industries. Theoretical, empirical, as well as case-oriented papers are welcome. We especially encourage the submission of papers by lawyers focusing on EU competition and/or comparative competition law. In addition to contributed sessions, there will also be invited section on consumer privacy.

Full papers as well as extended abstracts (three pages minimum) may be submitted; paper submissions are preferred. All proposals must include the following information: an abstract of up to 200 words, authors’ full name and affiliation as well as contact details. All papers or abstracts should be submitted to the organising committee via as pdf file no later than December 21, 2015. Proposals must be in English. Authors of accepted papers or abstracts will be notified no later than January 14, 2016. Presenters must register by February 3, 2016, and may kindly be asked to discuss another paper. Young researchers are particularly encouraged to submit proposals.

The conference fee is EUR 180. It covers conference materials, coffee breaks, and lunch. For presenters, the conference fee will be waived.
