2017 ZEW Public Finance Conference: Public Finance and Development

Conference

The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) is pleased to announce the 2017 ZEW Public Finance Conference. Papers in all fields of public finance are welcome. The particular focus of the 2017 annual conference will be on public finance and development, including (but not restricted to) research on:

  • Economic development and the structure of public spending and taxation
  • Optimal taxation facing administrative constraints
  • Behavioural responses to taxation in developing countries
  • Political institutions and fiscal capacity
  • Tax non-compliance and under-investment in public goods
  • Income inequality and public policies
  • Migration, remittances, demographic change and public finances
  • Development aid, EU development spending

In addition to the specific focus of the conference, we welcome submissions from all other areas of public economics and political economy, including:

  • Fiscal governance and fiscal institutions
  • Taxation and inequality
  • Political economy of fiscal decision-making
