2014 ZEW Public Finance Conference - Public Administration and Economic Performance

The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) is pleased to announce the 2014 Public Finance Conference. While papers on all aspects of empirical and applied theoretical issues in public finance are welcome, the focus of this year’s conference will be on the role of public administration, in particular tax administration, for fiscal and economic performance. Submissions that relate to this topic are particularly welcome and may include papers which:

  • analyse the quality of public administration and its economic effects
  • conduct relevant field experiments
  • make use of dedicated administrative data

We also invite paper submissions covering other topics in public finance, in particular:

  • Fiscal consolidation and fiscal institutions
  • European fiscal governance
  • Fiscal federalism in Europe
  • Political economy of fiscal decision making

Paper Submission Procedure

You are invited to submit either an extended abstract or, preferably, a full paper. Submissions should be sent by e-mail and as PDF file to publicfinance2014@zew.de by January 31, 2014.

Acceptance of proposals will be notified by February 28, 2014. Completed papers will be required no later than April 4, 2014. No conference fee will be charged for presenters. We will contribute to travelling expenses for presenters of accepted papers.
