The measurement of IT-based services productivity is at the heart of the ProdIT research project, which is patronized by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The research project is carried out in a combined effort by the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), the University of Mannheim and Pierre Audoin Consultants (PAC).
PAC’s distinguished responsibility is the elaboration of key indicators for the controlling and measurement of IT- service providers. Essential questions, in this respect, are among others:
- Which methods and key indicators are suitable for the measurement, controlling and design of IT-services?
- Through which key indicators and methods can IT-service providers make the quality of their services and their productivity visible to the client?
- To what extent are key indicators currently used to assess the production and distribution of IT-services feasible, significant and comparable?
The analyses are both based on desk research, expert-interviews, case studies and quantitative research among IT-service providers and client.
In this workshop we will outline and discuss existing and innovative concepts for the measurement and controlling of IT-service organizations.
