Ex-post Evaluation of Competition Policy

Topic

The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) is pleased to announce its conference on the ex-post evaluation of competition policy. It aims at bringing together legal and economic scholars in competition law and economics as well as practitioners in the various competition authorities, legal counsel and economic consultancy firms to discuss recent developments in the ex-post evaluation of competition policy. A special emphasis lies on the use of up-to-date quantitative methods in ex-post evaluation as well as the policy implications of recent research.

Submission of Papers or Abstracts

Full papers as well as extended abstracts may be submitted. All proposals must include the following information: An abstract of up to 500 words, authors' full name and affiliation, contact details for corresponding author, such as address, phone, and e-mail.

All papers or abstracts should be submitted electronically to the organising committee via evalcomp2009@zew.de as doc or pdf files (preferably pdf) no later than 15 March 2009. Proposals must be in English. Proposals will be peer reviewed. Authors of accepted papers or abstracts will be notified by 15 April 2009. Presenters may be kindly asked to discuss another paper. Young researchers are particularly encouraged to submit proposals.

Registration Fee

The conference fee is € 100. For participants who present a paper, the conference fee is reduced to € 75. The registration fee covers conference materials, coffee breaks, and the lunch break. We have a limited budget to cover some travel and accommodation expenses of presenters. An informal get-together is planned on the evening of 2 June 2009.
