Speaker
Target Group
The workshop addresses the scientific (universities, research centers) and business (consulting) community interested in quantitative analysis of energy business and energy policies.
Participants should be familiar with basic statistics and microeconomics.
Topic
Optimization procedures and econometric forecasting methods play a key role for decision support in the energy business.
The aim of this year's Economic Modeling Workshop (EMW) is to provide an introduction into basic optimization and econometric models for the analysis of energy demand and supply.
Upon a short introduction of the theoretical basics, practical examples are investigated and implemented using STATA and GAMS. Familiarity with STATA and GAMS is useful but not required since the workshop provides a tutorial for both software packages. Material and teaching is in English.
