Topic
On October 8th and 9th, 2009, we arrange a conference on "The Economics of Charitable Giving" at the ZEW (Centre for European Economic Research) in Mannheim. We hope to assemble some of the most reputed researchers on that field as well as some innovative young researchers.

We invite you to contribute to the program with a paper in the context of charitable giving. The scope of the event is wide, econometric and experimental approaches to voluntary giving are equally welcome as are theoretical models. The focus may be, for example, on the individual donor, the charity and its activities, or on incentives set by the government.
All conference attendees must register by filling out the registration form by Friday, September 25. The deadline for registration has expired.
The conference fee is EUR 80, reduced fee for members of the AEI is EUR 60. Ph.D. students only have to pay a fee of EUR 40 if they hand in a confirmation of their status as a Ph.D. student. Accepted authors do not need to pay the conference fee. Additionally, their travel and accomodation costs will be partly covered.
Conference fees for NON-presenters must be made payable to the Arbeitskreis Europäische Integration (AEI) until Friday, September 25. Please transfer the conference fee to the following bank account and add your last name to the explanation:

Paper Submission Procedure
Individual proposals for the congress containing an extended abstract or the completed paper should be sent as an attachment in an e-mail message, to be received no later than July 31st 2009, to: charity-conference@zew.de
Acceptance of proposals will be notified before August 15th, 2009. Completed papers will be required before September 18th, 2009, and will be posted on http://www.zew.de/charity2009. The website will periodically provide updated information regarding the congress.
