Markus Trunschke

Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics

Markus Trunschke has been a researcher in ZEW’s Research Unit “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics” and a doctoral student at KU Leuven since October 2017. His main research interest is in innovation economics on the microeconomic level. In particular, he focuses on the analysis of firm innovation behaviour and its impact on productivity dynamics. In his research, he applies a variety of econometric techniques to structurally model firm behaviour and estimate treatment effects.

Markus Trunschke received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Mannheim in 2016. During his master’s studies at KU Leuven, he majored in research in economics with a microeconomic focus. Besides his work at ZEW, he taught advanced economics to bachelor students at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Mannheim.
