Janna Axenbeck completed her bachelor’s degree in socioeconomics at Hamburg University and her master’s degree in public economics at the Free University of Berlin, including exchange semesters at Sciences Po Lille and National Taiwan University. During her master’s programme, she focused on innovation economics and policy.
In her master’s thesis, Janna Axenbeck analyzed the effects of environmental innovation on firm profitability. Using data from the Mannheim Innovation Panel (MIP), she investigated whether the scale of these effects depends on firm size and environmental regulation. Her major research interest is in the impact of digitization on sustainability. She joined ZEW’s Research Department “Digital Economy” in October 2017.
