Francesco Berlingieri has been a researcher in ZEW’s Research Department "Labour Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy" since September 2011. Within the department, he is a member of the Research Area “Changing Labour Markets”. He is pursuing a PhD at Heidelberg University under the supervision of Prof. Christina Gathmann. His research interests are in labour and education economics, with a special focus on the transition of university graduates into the labour market and skill mismatch. Recently, he is analysing differences in wages and job matches across German regions.

He holds a Master of Science in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan and has spent several semesters abroad at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) and at the University of Mannheim. During his studies, he specialised in labour economics, development economics, and applied microeconometrics.
