Benjamin Engelstätter studied economics with a focus on econometrics and statistics at Kiel University. He wrote his diploma thesis at the Research Centre of the Deutsche Bundesbank. Since July 2007 he has been working for ZEW's Research Group "Information and Communication Technologies". His fields of research include the effects of the usage of different ICTs like, e.g., enterprise systems on firm performance and innovation activities. Recently, his research concentrates on network formation and peer effects in different economic settings as well as strategic product entry in markets for digital media such as movie or video game industries.
Benjamin Engelstätter earned an external PhD at Maastricht University. He finished his thesis entitled "Enterprise Software and Video Games: An Empirical Analysis" supervised by Prof. Dr. Pierre A. Mohnen in 2012.
