In making key decisions for future phases of EU ETS, Government needs to fully
understand the competitiveness implications of these decisions on industrial
sectors.
Key areas include the ability of firms to pass through increased costs, focussing
on both direct and indirect costs arising from EU ETS. Robust empirical analysis
and possible econometric estimation in these areas are planned for this project
in order to complement the existing evidence base. The project focusses on British industry.
