Child Care and Child Development
The aim of this research project is to estimate the effect of
pre-school institutional child care on child outcomes at school entry. In
particular, we are interested in evaluating how the duration of child care
attendance is influencing child development measured at entry of school. We
use unique administrative data which we combine with socio-economic
background variables on the regional level. With these new data we can
contribute to the ongoing debate on the effects of institutional child care
on children’s school readiness.
