The Evolution of Wage Mobility among Low-Paid Workers
In this project, we study the evolution of earnings
mobility in Germany.
Particular attention will be given to the dynamics of earnings in the low-wage
sector, by providing a descriptive analysis how the probability of escaping
low-pay has changed over the last two decades. The data we use stem from the
IAB-Employment Sample 1985-2004, which is a 2-% sample of all employees subject
to the German Social Security System.
