Wage mobility in the low-wage labour market in Germany
In this project, we examine the importance of individual and
employer-specific determinants in escaping low earnings in Germany. The overall
objective is to identify a possible segmentation of the labour market into work
places with low and high prospects of earnings mobility. In order to quantify the
extent to which segmentation proceeds along individual and/or employer characteristics, we use the
Linked-Employer-Employee Data set of the IAB, a data set that supplies both
information on workers as well as their employers.
