Research on the pilotproject "M+E-Einstieg"
It is the aim of this project
to anaylse the impact of the training programme "M+E-Einstieg"
for disadvantaged youth in the participating firms. This new programme will
last for five years at least and is part of the overall strategy of SÜDWESTMETALL for hiring and promoting highly skilled young workers for
dual vocational training. The new programme aims at supporting young
disadvantaged students in the whole transition process from school to work. We
plan to empirically assess the impact of the programme based on data collected
before and after training has taken place in the firms and on interviews with
human resource managers. Based upon the findings we intend to discuss policies
for improving the new programme.
